I highly recommend Key West if you prefer flip-flops over heels, beach coverups to slinky dresses, and dive bars to bottle service but if you want a different point of view literally Casa Marina Key West, the sister hotel to The Reach unlike most of the more luxurious Key West Hotels.

The beautiful old-world resort, is on the National Register of Historic Places and boasts the largest private beach on the entire Key. The resort was built by railroad magnate Henry Flagler and opened with a grand party on New Year’s Eve in 1920. As you arrive at the grand portico entrance, you can tell it’s a place with history and you can almost see the guests entering in their ball gowns and tuxedos.

Casa Marina Key West, has 311 rooms and 69 suites, from the standard accommodations to the two-floor, two-bedroom suite. Rooms are large and minimally decorated think beachy elegance minus the overdone corals and blues. Splurge on an Ocean-View King Room in the original Henry Flagler designed building for nine-foot ceilings and picture windows. Any room you choose will have contemporary tropical furnishings with clean lines and sandy hues, a lovely all-white bathroom with wood accents, a flat-screen TV and a Nespresso machine, complete with regular and decaf coffee pods.

We recommend reserving one of the rooms with the furnished giant balconies overlooking two amazing pools and private beach. They are one of a kind and feature magnificent views.

Relax under the whispering palms beside the ocean. Swim and snorkel off the dock in the blue Atlantic waters.

After soaking up the sun, sand and surf, bring the day to a close at Sun Sun Bar and Restaurant, a great dining experience is an important part of any vacation. This relaxing place features an oceanfront setting complete with swaying palm trees, warm breezes and signature cocktails. Dishes are Key West-inspired: conch chowder, lobster-crab cakes, seafood and tropical salads

The event is casual yet elegant dining experience, wonderful live music and a glass of prosecco while the sun sets.

For a classic and sophisticated Key West experience that’s both close to the busting downtown area but with a little calm you can’t do better than this. Casa Marina Key West surpassed all our expectations, and made an incredibly enjoyable stays!
