The Fairmont is perfect because it is located in close proximity to the San Juan airport (only a 5-10 min ride) and Old San Juan itself! Making it an easy vacation spot from the United States. You do not need a US Passport to get in but you do need a negative COVID test taken 72 hours prior to arrival. Once you have your negative test result you will upload that to a portal your airline will send. Upon arrival you will scan your code and are on your way!

Ready to hit the beach? Just walk downstairs! You can request towels at any of the stands by the pools or beach, and you only need to give your room number. The resort also provides complimentary chairs and umbrellas at the same stand.
Fairmont San Juan has four pools, my favorite of which was the adults-only. It was peaceful, at a perfect temperature and got lots of shade . The other pools were also great and we took advantage of all of them.
The adult pool was more on the quiet side, I found it to be peaceful and the perfect place to read a book or lounge in the sun, while the beach and the other pools were kid-friendly and had music playing, for more of an energetic vibe. You were also able to order drinks right from waiters walking around on the beach and by the pools, which was clutch – nothin’ like enjoying a pina colada without having to leave your lounge chair!
The hotel is home to a variety of dining venues, each with their own unique atmosphere and menu offerings. don’t miss the sushi El San Juan (pork recaíto, maduros, refrito, chicharrones) by the Crystal Grande Dame in the Lobby. A taste of Puerto Rico!
I could immediately tell that I was staying in a special area. In fact Isla Verde is home to a beautiful tropical beach, bustling nightlife, high-end shopping, and trendy dining. Fairmont El San Juan Hotel is nestled among all of these activities, making it the perfect vacation spot.
